2022 home kit celebrates 80 years of defining moment for Palmeiras

PUMA Brasil and Palmeiras today launch the home kit for the 2022 season. The shirt is an integrated part of the “When Palmeiras Emerge” campaign, commemorating the historic conquest of the 1942 Paulista Championship, 80 years ago, known as the “Arrancada Heroica” and a fundamental part of the construction of the Sociedade Esportiva Palmeiras. Check out the promo video here.

The campaign recalls one of the most symbolic moments of the Big Green, which marked the forced end of the Palestra Italia era and the beginning of the Sociedade Esportiva Palmeiras. The video draws a parallel with the first moment the newborn club appeared on the field as Sociedade Esportiva Palmeiras during a decisive game that saw Palmeiras lift the 1942 Paulista Championship trophy.

The debut of the new home jersey is tonight, in Palmeiras’ second game of the Paulista Championship, the same competition of the “Arrancada Heroica”. The uniform will also be used during the FIFA Club World Cup and throughout the season. The uniform features a gradient sublimated print of several palm leaves on the front. These leaves not only represent the rebirth of the club but are also a symbol of victory and eternal life. In addition, the white V collar and white cuffs follow the same design as the first uniform used by Palmeiras. The jersey has a regular fit and embroidered Palmeiras badge and PUMA logo. It features PUMA’s dryCELL technology for maximum moisture absorption and Ketten fabric with Mesh construction, which ensures greater breathability.

“This new shirt portrays our history of glory and it is with it that we will seek the second world championship”, celebrates Palmeiras president Leila Pereira.

“Since the beginning of the partnership between PUMA and Palmeiras, we have sought to value both the recent history and the past of the club. We’re looking to build new stories to tell in the future” concludes PUMA’s marketing director Fabio Kadow.
