Sonar pings #128 – work in progress

Ponte Preta 0-1 Palmeiras
In a tough game in Campinas, Palmeiras earned three difficult points against Ponte Preta. Willian scored the sole goal, assisted by Luiz Adriano. The clean sheet is the fourth in five games for the São Paulo state Championship, but this time Weverton was the main responsible for it. Dudu received a red card and won’t reach his 300 games mark in Palmeiras’ colors against Mirassol.

Palmeiras 1-3 Corinthians
Debuting in the main division of the Women’s Football Championship in Brazil, Palmeiras faced a tough opponent: historic rivals Corinthians, runners-up of the last edition and current Libertadores champions. The game was leveled, with both teams scoring early. Palmeiras’ goal was an incredible shot by Carla. In the second half, when Palmeiras were in control of the game, having lost an opportunity face-to-face with the goalkeeper, Corinthians found their second goal and later, put final numbers to the game with some help of the referee assistant, since the player who scored the goal was offside.

Signings
Negotiations with Rony are almost over, as the winger apparently has reached a new agreement to continue at Athletico Paranaense, yet to be signed this week. Rumour has it that Palmeiras have Kennedy, from Getafe, on their radar, but the club hasn’t confirmed.

Green Carpet
The installation of the new pitch at the Allianz Parque has been concluded. The resistance of the artificial grass has already been tested, as the innaugural event was a big religious event. Before the game against Mirassol, on Sunday, the team is scheduled to make a training session on the new carpet, probably open to supporters.
