Yesterday Saturday, Palmeiras for the first time bagged the female São Paulo Cup, beating São Paulo FC 2-1 at Nelo Bracalente Stadium, in Vinhedo. The opponent opened the score already in the tenth minute with Brazilian National team star Cristiane, but with goals from Bianca (34th minute) and Stella (36th minute), Palmeiras turned the game around already in the first half, securing the victory in the second half much due to an outstanding performance from goalkeeper Jully.
This is Palmeiras Women’s first title since the team was reassembled last February. The title crowns a great season, during which access was gained to the First Division of the 2020 Brazilian Women’s Championship.
In total, Palmeiras 2019 campaign computes 30 games, with 16 victories, 8 draws and 6 defeats – 65 goals scored and 22 conceded.
