End of 2017, Zé Roberto retired as a player to take up position as technical assistant with the club. At Palmeiras, Zé Roberto added the 2015 Brazil Cup and the 2016 Brasileirão to his already extensive list of trophies. Now, a friendly match is being prepared in his honour, to coincide with the launching of Palmeiras’ 2019 gear – the first signed by PUMA, after 12 years with Adidas. The date of the game is yet to be confirmed, but mid-January, seems likely, shortly before Palmeiras’ debut in the São Paulo state championship. Venue is the Allianz Parque.
Next year’s kits recently received approval of the Palmeiras board. Clean, classic, back to basics. Also the training and travel gears will be in similar fashion: at the request of Palmeiras, PUMA will hardly use colours other than green and white in 2019-2020. Launch much anticipated among supporters, I promise you.
