Palmeiras last week unveiled the new 3rd kit, the last to be produced for the club by Adidas; the German company, a partner for 12 year, will be replaced by Puma as of 2019. The future supplier and Palmeiras have signed a three-year agreement and the Verdão will have exclusivity: no other Brazilian football team shall be sponsored by Puma during the length of the contract.

The new jersey brings shades of dark green, a print of geometric graphics and shadows throughout its length, giving it a somewhat military connotation. Most supporters did not react particularly well to the design and here at Anything Palmeiras we’re not that thrilled either, albeit at the same time recognizing it has potential: less regular, it might become a fashion statement and take off in sales. Time will tell.
To announce the new jersey, Palmeiras teamed up with recent partner Konami, producer of the “Pro Evolution Soccer” game (teaser below). PES 2019 is the only to feature Palmeiras, and the Allianz Parque for that matter, and will be available for PS4/Xbox One as of 28 August and for PC as of 30 August.
.
The 3rd kit’s debut on the pitch happened Sunday, a week ago, against Vasco, Deyverson scoring the only goal of the match. Today, away against Vitória, another two goals by Deyverson and a third by Dudu, Palmeiras again returning home with three points. New jersey’s at least doing wonders for Deyverson.
If you feel like pulling on some camo-inspired football gear, the garment is available at the online “Palmeiras Store” (unfortunately, still no international p&p), and physically at the “Academia Store” units. Price tag, approximately US$ 65.
