In between seasons the buzz is as natural as ABC, as teams hurry to replace/remake/remodel in any way possible or impossible. This year, at Palmeiras, there’s almost a collective holding of breath. And when someone breaks the silence, rest assured unpleasant things are hitting the fan; minor issues that should be kept inside the club turns into storms in teacups when reaching the major vehicles of communication, damaging Palmeiras’ image in addition to straining relations between key persons.
New levels of tension are added by the upcoming elections in mid January (more on this later).
If 2011 will be anything like the last two weeks of 2010, we’re in for a rough ride.
