The STJD – nothing but a bad joke

The Brazilian Supreme Sports’ Tribunal – the STJD – has done it again. In yet another display of arbitrary action, the Tribunal has suspended coach Scolari from Palmeiras’ coming two games (tomorrow against Avaí and Sunday’s game against Botafogo) on the allegation that he offended the referee during the clash against São Paulo on the 19 September.

Palmeiras lawyer André Sica calls the ruling absurd and is convinced that the judges had their minds pre-set on a conviction, as they did not allow the defense to present their main evidence of Scolari’s innocence, an audio tape.

“We are without a doubt going to challenge the ruling of the court”, André Sica states before leaving the tribunal.
